My Village Trip

Feeling good after a long break.
I went to my village in Orissa. I spent my wonderful days there. I went there by bus, and I saw long and large trees all around along the road side. Everything was green becuase of rains. It was looking as if we are entering to the jungle. After crossing that junglee area, we came to a small and cool place and that was my village. My village was surrounded by farm lands where the new rice crops grew. There is a river crossing in between that farm where we bath.
I enjoyed a lot there. I, with my two brother, samir and munna enjoyed a lot. We went to see the biggest fair of that region and enjoyed the durga puja and dussehera. We did swimming in the river and sometime we use to catch the fish with the fish net. We played cricket match with the village people. We even had lots of eatables, sweets etc and lots............
It was really a nice time.

Bye Bye!!! I'm Going.

I'm feeling lonely coz everyone has gone to his or her home except few ppl. They are living here in hostel. I'm among them. Living here will be a disaster coz all office, net-lab, library and even Mess will be remain closed. How we will survive ???

Well, I just planned to go to my village. I haven’t been there for last 5 years. Village is such a place where u can get innumerable relations, superstitious talks, traditional way of doing everything, natural scenes like greenery, farmlands, stream, etc; and the most important peace of mind.

So, ppl catch you after my village trip. BYE BYE n EnJoY!!!

Rath Yatra: Orissa's Famous Festival

Rath Yatra
Puri offers a number of colourful fairs and festivals such as Chandan Yatra, Snan Yatra (Bath festival), Ganesh Puja, etc., but it is the Car Festival, an annual sojourn of the three deities riding their lofty chariots to their respective huge cars--14 metres high, 10 metres square and supported on 16 giant wheels, each over two metres in diametre that marks the climax. These chariots or Rathas are pulled along the Bada Danda or the Grand Road by lakhs of devotees to Gundicha temple over a kilometre. At Gundicha the deities take new apparels every day and after a lapse of 8 days return to the main shrine riding the same Rathas. At the termination of the Yatra, the cars are broken up into pieces and religious relics are made from them. Thus, every year new chariots are built. The images of the dieties are also disposed of at intervals of 8 to 19 years, depending on astrological calculations, and new images are installed as prescribed in the religious text. The Rath Yatra symbolizes Krishna's departure to Mathura from Gokul.

My Native Place: Orissa

I want to tell u all about my native place Orissa.
Ever washed by the blue waters of the Bay of Bengal in the east, Orissa is bounded in the north by Bihar, in the north-east by West Bengal, in the south by Andhra Pradesh and in the west by Madhya Pradesh. This rural riverine land of multi-splendours, is watered by the rivers Mahanadi, Brahmani, and Vaitarani flowing in the south-easternly direction before merging in the Bay of Bengal. These rivers and their tributaries provide the state with rich alluvial tracts.
Orissa is possessed of an extensive plateau in the interior with sprawling coastal plains in the foreground. Its extensive palm fringed coast-line running to 482 kms., serene holiday beaches, pronounced rural environs, charming blue hills rising here and there abruptly from the plains and the plateau, green wood-lands, rock caves, so fascinatingly sculptured temples and other monuments , picturesque mud villages set in greens, modern industrial leviathans, colourful tribals and so rich and varied handicrafts make Orissa a miniature India.
